It’s Turkey Time!

Time to loosen your waistbands and pull up to the table!  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we all know what that means!  Turkey and ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie coming out of our ears!  It’s a time to gather with family to enjoy a home-cooked meal and be thankful for the good things in our lives both large and small.  Whether you’re celebrating a promotion at work or Jenny graduating from kindergarten to the first grade or simply the amount of turkey-and-cranberry sandwiches you’re about to have (for the next several weeks), there’s a lot to be thankful for.  (Hopefully your extended family is one of those things.)

I’m thankful for many things.  Family is top of the list, of course (I can feel my mother’s eyes boring menacingly into the back of my neck as I write this).  I am also thankful for my new job at Children’s Mercy Hospital (come see me at the Kreamer library) and the unexpected opportunity to publish a children’s book in the next…well, soon, anyway.  My sister and her husband just welcomed a daughter in July and she just turned five months old!  Oh, and I’m happy to be writing this blog and bringing you a bit of holiday joy.

Happy Thanksgiving!
